TAKE 5
Take 5 minutes with an employee every day. This will help you know your people better, know their strengths and learn how you can help them flourish.
- Make a list of all your employees.
- Talk to one employee every day and ask them one simple question – your job is to listen.
- When you are through your list, start all over again.
PRAISE/POSITIVE FEEDBACK
Help your employees to know what to do more of, by giving them praise and positive feedback when they do a great job.
- Praise for results, efforts or behavior.
- Say it or write it – just remember to do it.
- Be genuine and be specific.
- Add why it’s meaningful to you, colleagues, the organization, clients, the environment, …
- Tailor the praise to the recipient.

Share a positive story, learning, meaningful progress, result or success.

- Share it with your team or in an all hands meeting.
- Visualize it on a board in your workplace or online platform.
- Ask for great stories to share and you’ll empower your employees to be proud of their job.
